What is a “Home Group”?

Small group, home group, house group, there are many names for these smaller settings of gathering. Home group is is an intentional gathering, meeting regularly for the purpose of growing in relationship with the Lord and with the church. 

Where is Home Group?

Home Groups will meet in the homes of some of our church members. As we lock down location and times, begin to pray and ask God which group you can be a part of.

Why should I join one?

Great question! The Scriptures indicate that the Christian life is to be lived out in community with other believers, where we can encourage, serve, rejoice and weep with one another. Small Group settings provide opportunity for our people to disciple and encourage one another in the faith. Hebrews 10:24-25

What’s the purpose of these groups?

Simple: the purpose of these groups is to build long lasting, real relationships and to disciple one another as we pursue Jesus. The Home Group should be a place where discipleship, the maturing in one’s faith in Christ, is encouraged and prioritized. It’s through the Home Groups that the church not only helps one another grow in their faith, but also acts as an inclusive community that allows God’s people to unite one another in Christ Jesus. Acts 20:17-35

I already attend a Sunday School class. What’s the difference?

Home Groups are primarily different from Sunday school in intent. Sunday School’s primary focus is on Bible Study. These groups meet before Sunday service. Home groups focus primarily on application of Bible truths, and are in the homes of various members at various times. While both are open for all to come to, we believe both are necessary for the believer to grow in their faith.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes! We encourage you to bring your children, spouse, and pets. Well, ok, not your pets. But yes, we want you to bring your family. The more the merrier!

What should I expect?

All of our Home Groups will be different based on the leaders, homes, and group. But you can expect these at all of our meeting places: food, warm faces, a short and Biblical study, question and answer, great conversation, and lot’s of laughter!

How should I dress?

Home Groups are casual and relaxing. Come as you are, but of course, come expecting the Lord to speak to you!
